Dr. Fortner grew up in Richmond and went to J.R. Tucker High School. He earned his dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1989 and served his general practice residency at the University of Chicago. He returned home and established his dental practice, focusing on general and family dentistry. It was the right choice for him. “I love what I do,” he says. “It doesn’t even feel like work.“
A family man, Dr. Fortner and his wife, Julie Fortner (an area pediatrician), have four children, Bryce, Ryan, Kendall and Madison. The family loves to travel – especially to Disney and spending time in Sandbridge, VA! – and shares their home with a variety of cherished pets, including a dog, a bunny and a few cats.
